WELCOME TO HUBBARD
Welcome to Hubbard. Our #1 priority is to teach children to love and respect the water. We are committed to providing swim lessons that build confidence and teach water safety skills in a child centered environment.
WHY HUBBARD
Our international reputation for excellence in teaching has grown as a result of our passion for teaching and our learn-to-swim techniques. As our students grow from babies to toddlers to age groupers we continue to focus our lessons on teaching skills to help your child excel.
HELPFUL HUBBARD HINTS
  • Swim Diapers: Cloth, reusable swim diapers with a good fit around the legs and waist are REQUIRED for all students under the age of 3, even those who are potty-trained. We do allow disposable swim diapers in the pool under the cloth diaper if you choose to “double diaper.” Help us prevent leakage into the pool which causes us to close the pool.
  • Check in every week and get a bracelet for your swimmer. This helps us with a safe and efficient swimmer turn over every half hour. Lane assignments have no relationship to levels!
  • Class placement: During your child’s first lessons we will focus on getting them in the right class. We will update you if there are any changes. We will be patient with your little ones - please be patient with us!
  • Entering the pool: Swimmers enter the pool through the lobby door. At the end of the lesson your swimmer will be directed to leave thru the “wet door”. Please meet your swimmers by the shower/wet door area. This keeps water off our lobby floor.
  • Viewing the lesson: Our big glass wall is not a barrier. Feel free to walk your children out to their teacher. If you have a question or a comment be sure to talk to the Deck Supervisor once they get the classes in the water.
  • Cameras: We love them. Come out on deck anytime to take pictures.
  • Backfloating: Yes we work on the backfloat – over and over. We believe in it. May take a little extra work but we believe that once a child has their backfloat they become safe and comfortable in the water.
  • Potty Runs: Our water is 90 degrees. Students put their big toe in and think it’s potty time. We help students with bathroom runs all day long. We have a bathroom on the deck and will supervise your student when they go in there so they don’t slip off the potty or get stuck with their suit around their ankles. There is a “to the floor” urinal that the boys love! You are welcome to come out and help them in the bathroom at any time!
  • Bulletins Boards: We keep them updated with new information about what’s going on in the swim school.
