Pat Sunderhaus—General Manager, Phoenix

Pat has been a part of the Hubbard Family Swim School and Summer Sports Camps since 2003. In 1999 he graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH with a degree in Athletic Training. From XU, he went on to become the Head Athletic Trainer at his alma mater, Saint Xavier High School. It was a tremendous experience working with such high quality athletics and academics.

Pat found his way to Phoenix with the help of his wife, Ann Marie. They met through friends in 2001 in Cincinnati, OH. In 2003, Ann Marie invited (hired) Pat to be a director of the Hubbard Summer Sports Camp and that was his introduction to the Hubbard world. He loved the energy, the passion, and the commitment to customers, staff, and children.

Ann Marie and Pat were married in 2004. The joy of their lives, their son, Frank Sunderhaus was born December 6, 2006. He comes to work everyday with his mom and dad and he loves to swim!

Playing and coaching athletics are Pat’s passions. His soccer playing career led him to Xavier University where he played for four years. After college, Pat coached girls’ age-group youth teams. In 2006, he and Ann Marie coached Maggie Hubbard’s soccer team here in Phoenix. Pat makes an effort to hold onto his youth by playing weekly in a men’s indoor soccer league.

In 2006 Pat became Co-Director of all three Camp locations. In the winter of 2006, he became the Co-General Manager at the Hubbard Family Swim School – Phoenix.

In the many years of playing sports, 12 years of coaching and the 6 years working at St. Xavier, Pat has gained valuable lessons in working with children and young adults, in and around athletics. He believes that children are precious and that adults are responsible for their growth into fine young people. Hubbard gives him the opportunity everyday to touch the lives of so many people and make a difference. He firmly believes in the Hubbard Core Values of “Do Small Things with Great Love – Everyone is Family – Whatever It Takes” and also lives by the Jesuit philosophy of “Men for Others.”
